Frequently Asked Questions

We know it can feel overwhelming to navigate healthcare, especially when you are not sure where to start.

This page answers some of the most common questions we hear. You are never expected to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Appointments and Scheduling

No referral is needed. You can schedule directly with our office whenever you feel ready.

If you are unsure where to start, our team can help guide you to the right type of visit.

Appointments can be booked online or by contacting the office directly.

Some patients prefer to talk through their questions first, while others like the ease of online scheduling. Both options are available.

We understand that things come up. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact the office as soon as you are able so we can adjust your appointment.

Availability varies based on the type of visit and time of year.

If you are hoping to be seen sooner, reach out to the office and we will do our best to help.

First Visit and Care Experience

Your first visit focuses on listening, understanding your concerns, and learning about your health history.

You will never be rushed. Care recommendations are discussed with you, not decided for you.

In many cases, yes. However, this always depends on your comfort level, health history, and what feels appropriate for your body.

Nothing is done without your consent.

No. There is no pressure to commit to anything.

Care plans are recommendations, not requirements. You are always in control of how you move forward.

That is very common, especially if you have had a difficult or dismissive healthcare experience in the past.

Our approach is gentle, conversational, and focused on making you feel safe and supported. You are encouraged to ask questions at any time.

Women’s Health Care

No. You do not need a diagnosis to schedule an appointment.

Many patients come in because something feels off and they want to be heard and supported while exploring what may be going on.

Yes. Many women are told to live with pain, cycle issues, or hormonal symptoms.

If something does not feel right to you, it deserves attention. Your experience matters.

No. Women’s health care often involves movement, nervous system support, stress, sleep, digestion, and overall wellbeing.

Care is individualized and based on your lived experience, not a checklist.

Functional and Whole Body Care

Not at all. Most patients do not know where to start.

Your visit is about understanding patterns and deciding next steps together. You are not expected to have it all figured out.

No. Testing is discussed as an option, not a requirement.

You will always understand why something is being recommended and have the space to decide what feels right for you.

Functional care can be helpful for both ongoing concerns and early symptoms.

Many patients use it to better understand their body, improve energy, or feel more supported overall.

Virtual Health Coaching

Yes. Many patients use virtual health coaching alongside in person visits. It can be a helpful way to stay supported between appointments or talk through questions as they come up.

Health Coaching is not eligible for insurance submission.

Learn more about Insurance and Payments

Yes. Virtual health coaching is a great option when getting to the clinic just is not possible. Care should fit into real life, not add stress.

Yes. Some patients prefer to start with a virtual conversation first. This can be a comfortable way to ask questions, share concerns, and decide what feels right for you before an in person visit.

Insurance and Billing

Tri-County Wellness is an out of network practice. This means we do not bill insurance directly.

Many patients still use their insurance benefits by submitting a superbill after their visit. This approach allows your care to be guided by your needs rather than insurance limitations.

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company needs to review an out of network claim.

It lists the services provided, diagnosis codes, provider information, and the amount paid. You submit it directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan and out of network benefits.

Some plans reimburse a percentage of the visit cost, while others apply it toward your out of network deductible. We recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask how they handle out of network chiropractic or functional care services.

At this time, patients submit superbills directly to their insurance company. This gives you full visibility and control over the process.

If you have questions about how to submit it or what to ask your insurance provider, our team is happy to help explain the steps.

Being out of network allows us to spend more time with patients and tailor care without insurance driven restrictions.

There are no surprise denials after care, fewer limitations on visit structure, and more flexibility in how care is delivered.

Many patients find this approach feels clearer, more personal, and less stressful.

We accept cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, and health savings or flexible spending cards. CareCredit is also available for those who prefer a financing option.

If you have questions about a specific payment method, feel free to ask before your visit.

In many cases, yes. Most HSA and FSA plans allow payment for chiropractic and related services, but eligibility can vary by plan.

We recommend checking with your plan administrator if you are unsure.

Absolutely.

We want you to feel informed and comfortable before starting care. If you would like to discuss payment options, superbills, or what to expect financially, our front desk team is always happy to talk it through with you.

Office Policies and Accessibility

We strive to make the clinic as accessible and comfortable as possible.

If you have specific needs or concerns, please contact the office so we can support you appropriately.

Yes. You are welcome to bring a support person if that helps you feel more comfortable.

Please let us know. We are happy to make reasonable adjustments to help you feel at ease during your visit.

Yes. Cora is our therapy dog and part of the care team.

She may say hello during visits, but interaction is always optional. If you prefer not to have contact with Cora, she can be kept out of your visit space. Just let us know what feels most comfortable for you.

Because Cora is regularly present in the clinic, patients with severe dog allergies may not be able to be fully accommodated in the space. If you have allergy concerns, we encourage you to contact the office before scheduling so we can talk through options together.

We kindly ask for advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Because visit times are reserved specifically for you, late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee. This helps us respect the provider’s time and offer availability to other patients who may be waiting for care.

If something unexpected comes up, please contact the office as soon as you are able. We understand that life happens and are always happy to talk things through.
